“My priority as an outdoor photographer is to convey my personal vision of the world and to uphold care and respect for the environment. Through my photography I hope to raise awareness and encourage in others a greater appreciation of the splendour of the natural world. My photography has made me more aware of my surroundings and is a way of life, it allows me to document the natural world without judgement or preconception.”

Phil is a qualified member of the highly respected British Professional Photographers Assoc. and the Royal Photographic Society and lives on the Isle of Mull in the west of Scotland. Here photography is not only a profession but a way of life and Phil's many years of photography experience is clearly evident.

He has passion and enthusiasm for the Isle of Mull, photography and the great outdoors, which when combined with magnificent scenery, diverse flora and fauna and the remarkable quality of light provide a continual source of photographic opportunity and inspiration.

He has empathy with natural detail and pattern believing these to be the building blocks of the natural world. This combined with attention to colour, shape and texture brings wonderment from the most commonplace of subjects. From atmospheric landscapes to creative abstracts Phil has a continually expanding and diverse Photo Library of traditional and digital well edited nature and landscape images ranging from macro to telephoto. Always looking for those special images with something extra to lift them above the ordinary.

Phil is a member of the Canon Professional Service (CPS) and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and an experienced Adobe Photoshop CS3 user striving to keep abreast of the latest digital photography technology.
